Diane is a behavioural economist and applied behavioural scientist. She is a behaviour change and worker well-being consultant, researcher, corporate trainer and lecturer. She is a member of the UCD Behavioural Science and Public Policy Group, a committee member of the Irish Behavioural Science and Policy Network, a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a certified member of The Global Association of Applied Behavioural Scientists (GAABS).

Diane is also a highly proficient and published quantitative and qualitative researcher. Her areas of interest include applied behavioural science, behavioural diagnosis, intervention design and evaluation, work design and workplace practices, EDI, well-being, and climate action.

She has helped a wide variety of public and private sector organisations to apply behavioural insights to change behaviour, improve economic outcomes and boost well-being.

She is passionate about education and has extensive teaching experience through her previous roles as an Assistant Professor of Behavioural Science (Trinity College Dublin) and Teaching Assistant (University College Dublin). She is currently a guest lecturer at Trinity College Dublin where she teaches students how to use behavioural insights to encourage climate positive behaviours. She currently teaches an online course “Behavioural Science at Work: applying behavioural insights in the workplace and beyond” which she developed to specifically address the continuous development needs of busy working professionals.

She particularly enjoys working with young people and provides Behavioural Science group workshops to TY students (the Behavioural Science Toolkit). Through her Career Compass service, she also helps secondary school students to make optimal career and further education choices.

Diane was awarded her Doctorate in Behavioural Economics from University College Dublin. Diane also holds a 1st class honours BComm International (German) from University College Dublin, a 1st class honours MPhil (Finance and Economics) degree from the University of Cambridge and a 1st class honours BSc in Psychology from the Open University.

Prior to commencing her PhD, she worked in corporate finance, project finance, debt restructuring and investor relations for over 20 years in London and Dublin with Citigroup, Zurich Financial Services Group and Geelon & Co.
